Tie
Rod Ends (TREs) are forged using medium alloy carbon steel.
Forgings are induction hardened, normalized and tempered
- this achieves fine and compact grains. They are also
tested for mechanical and chemical properties, and also
for surface cracks using a Magnaflux detector.
The machining of the TREs is carried
out on CNC machines to ensure correct fitment and exact
interchangeability with the parts of the OEM. The durability
of the joints are tested through simulated fatigue tests,
and the joints are filled with quality lithium base grease
which reduces friction and increases the life of the ball
joints. The life of the ball joint is also enhanced by
high tensile steel springs that absorb impact and jerks.
